Southern Scholarship Foundation's rent-free housing scholarship program came to fruition because of the vision of community members and their willingness to collaborate. These collaborations were the cornerstone of this organization and are what continue to make it a success.

SSF's collaborations take many forms. Our organization partners with foundations, businesses, civic clubs, and other nonprofits across the country on a variety of projects that ensure diversity in our program and create growth opportunities for our students.

Our civic club partners include Kiwanis International, Rotary International, Business and Professional Women, Alpha Delta Kappa, and Pilot International. Each of these organizations has adopted a scholarship house (some have adopted multiple houses) and has an ongoing relationship with residents. They host pantry stuffing parties, organize work days to help with house projects, and conduct fundraisers within their own clubs to support SSF. Additionally, members of these organizations volunteer at SSF fundraisers throughout the year, such as our FSU Home Football Game Day Parking fundraisers and our Education for Life 5K run in both Gainesville and Tallahassee.

SSF is also proud to have many nonprofit and for-profit business partners across the state. A few of these include CSX, which has three SSF alumni on their executive team, Wal-Mart, Florida Association of Broadcasters, Florida Public Relations Association, Coloney Bell Engineering, and a host of other nonprofit and for-profit businesses. These business partners not only sponsor students at SSF, but they also see the value in the unique living environment SSF fosters and actively recruit our students for internships and permanent positions.
