Hello! My name is Callie Schneider! I am from Tampa, FL, and I am a junior at Florida State University. I am majoring in media/communication studies with a minor in social entrepreneurship. I am, also, pursuing a certificate in Leadership Studies. I have incredible parents and two amazing younger brothers, and I don’t know where I would be today without them. My favorite color is blue, and my favorite kind of dinosaur is the Brachiosaurus. I love to sing and play guitar, and I always enjoy little adventures like climbing trees, running around in the rain, and playing manhunt with my housemates! When I have time, I also enjoy drawing and painting. At Florida State, I am a leader with Cru, a Christian campus ministry. After I graduate, I am hoping to work with Cru in college ministry.
I have lived in the Southern Scholarship Foundation since my freshman year, and it has been a highlight of my college experience! Whether we are goofing off late at night or having deep conversations about life and the world, my ADK sisters are such a blessing, and it is so wonderful to live in such a fun and supportive community. I have come to appreciate it even more now that outside community is limited due to COVID. I heard about SSF through a family friend who was living in one of the houses. She was quick to recommend it when she heard that I was wanting to attend FSU, and when I came to tour FSU’s campus she also gave me a tour of her scholarship house. As we finished up the tour I remember feeling certain that this is where I wanted to live. I had no idea of all the amazing friendships and memories that awaited me! I have grown so much through the leadership and skill building opportunities that SSF has provided within my house. The Southern Scholarship Foundation truly does provide an“Education for Life”, and I know that many of the friendships and skills I have gained through the Foundation will last for the rest of my life!
