Name: Zhoe Thomas
House: FL Retail
Greetings, I am Zhoe Thomas, a first-year business administration scholar hailing from Fort Worth, Texas and I attend the illustrious school of love and charity, Florida A&M University. I serve as the Miss Freshman Attendant for the 2021-2022 academic school year. My favorite things to do are playing the piano, stepping out of my comfort, and traveling. I chose FAMU to challenge myself beyond every measure I was accustomed to. There was always a sign telling me that this is where I was supposed to be and let’s not forget the amazing opportunities that will set me up for life. It has only been a few months and I can truly say I lived it up at THEE FAMU.
I am currently in the School of Business and Industry (SBI) program which will lead me in the right direction of getting my bachelor’s degree in business administration. Then I plan to join the one-year MBA program. My main goal is to leave FAMU better than I found it while gaining a remarkable experience. Thus far, I have been chosen to be the Miss Freshman attendant to recruit prospective students to come to the best HBCU. This is only the beginning of the plans I have in store for my time here. I enjoy building new relationships that open opportunities for me to gain perspective on different cultures and personalities. There is something about learning why someone is the way they are that sparks my interest. Furthermore, I enjoy laughing, dancing, and playing the piano. Growing up I always enjoyed the way the sound of a piano would put my mind at ease so, now I play.
Life is amazing in the best house FL Retail. Choosing SSF has taught me structure and has pushed me to stay productive even though I am thousands of miles away from home. I have been blessed to encounter 17 individuals with all different personalities. They make me laugh, annoyed sometimes, and smile but at the end of the day, we still start a new day as a FAMULY. There have been times where I did not feel like myself but unknowingly they shifted my day to something better. For example, the time we had a dance battle in our living room and created dances that I will never forget. It is times like those that keep me wholesome even though my family at home is so far away. I enjoy everything SSF has to offer and would not trade it for anything. The idea of SSF providing an affordable living for people even like me that are paying out-of-state tuition is a blessing in itself. I appreciate and love it here every day.
