House Bio: The Badcock House is named after W.S. Badcock, an immigrant from England who founded Badcock Furniture. The Badcock House is the oldest of SSF’s houses, originally constructed in 1900 and first updated by SSF in 1979 as the Pilot House. In 1992 it was named Badcock House after the Pilot Foundation built a new house right next door. The Badcock Furniture Company supplied furniture and appliances to SSF for over four decades.
