House Bio: The McKaig Scholarship House was opened in 1990 and is named after  C.L.and Alice McKaig. C.L. who had played major roles in the foundation for 20 years. C.L. was an attorney in Sarasota for 65 years and President of the Sarasota Rotary Club.  In the summer of 2013 the house was renamed McKaig-Malthouse after Bill Malthouse, an SSF Alum, set up an endowment for repairs and maintenance in honor of his wife, Nancy. One recent McKaig-Malthouse alum reminisced, “I remember walking into the doors of McKaig, afraid of leaving my parents, to representing McKaig at every event made for the SSF Community. I look back now and reflect on the memories of being able to grow as an individual and a leader.”
