House Bio: Opened in 1975, the house was SSF’s first house on the Hill (Stadium Drive). Known as the Polk House until 2019, all of the donations came from the residents of Polk County. It was the first house specially designed for cooperative group living with amenities such as a T.V. room and décor wall that included wall orange-colored carpeting and pansy wallpaper. From 2019 to 2022 Rotary Clubs and Rotarians from Tallahassee and the Panhandle raised funds for extensive renovations. Rotary was the first civic club to sponsor a house at SSF in 1961. Not one shred of orange carpeting or pansy wallpaper remain!
