Name: Da’Dreion Hampton
House: Smith-Tyner
Hello, my name is Da’Dreion (Day-Dree-on) Hampton, and I am a first-year scholar majoring in criminology at Florida State University. I am from Sanford, Florida which is just 20 minutes northeast of Orlando. I am the youngest of three kids on my mother’s side of the family, and I am the fifth child out of 15 on my father’s side of the family. One of my siblings also goes to FSU and lives in SSF. We all have a tight relationship with each other and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. Prior to coming to FSU, I wondered where I was going to live during my first year in college, knowing that dorms are very costly. I was fortunate enough to run across an individual who told me about SSF and how great of an opportunity it was and that I should apply. I can honestly say applying to SSF was one of the best decisions I have ever made, in the Smith-Tyner House, the chemistry between the housemates run deep.
In my spare time, I like to work out, hang out with friends, and I have found a new love for kayaking. Some of my interests include learning new languages and federal agencies, which is a big reason why I am a criminology major. After college I look forward to having the opportunity to work with either the DEA or FBI, these two federal agencies have sparked my interest greatly. I believe that pursuing this type of career will allow me to express myself in ways I have never been able to and I am able to help the community while doing it. I also want to attend law school at some point in time and practice criminal law. Beyond just helping myself succeed in life, I want to reach out to the kids who come from the same place I come from and help them reach the next level of education after high school. Doing this will set a positive example for the generations to come, and they will have a positive role model to look up to.
