My name is Venet Desir Jr., and I’m from Tampa, Florida. I’m a second-year engineering student at Florida A&M University. I actually received a scholarship from an FSU alumni, the summer before my freshman year. After chatting with her, I found out that she lived in SSF. She then began to tell me about it and encouraged me to apply.
My hobbies include things such as: making Tik Tok videos, dancing, essentially making some sort of content. In my free time I like to hang out with friends and family, get out the house and take walks, and just go places in general. I don’t like to be stuck in the house all day so some fresh air is always nice – it gives you time to clear your head.
After graduation, I plan to find a solid job working for a company in the engineering field. I have just gotten into my major this semester, so I’m still deciding on what branch of civil engineering I actually want to do. I’d be willing to go back home to Tampa to work, but I also wouldn’t mind going to another state. The goal is to make my mom proud, set an example for my nephew and little cousins. We’ve all had to go through some painful situations in our family. I want to show them that, we should live everyday like it’s our last. I want them to know that anything is possible as long as you stick with your plan.
