Name: Caleb Hayes
House: Malthouse
My name is Caleb Hayes. I grew up in Tallahassee, Florida where I graduated from Lincoln high school in 2017. I first attended Tallahassee Community College to save some money on tuition, which I highly recommend to any incoming freshman. After two years of TCC and earning my A.A. degree, I transferred to Florida State’s Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship. I first found out about SSF through my older brother Nathan. He got in to SSF his freshman year of college and he loved it, so of course I knew I had to live there too. We both got to live in the Smith-Tyner House together for two years before he graduated from FSU in December of 2019. Once Nathan graduated I decided that I would try my luck with getting into the new Malthouse Scholarship House, and lo and behold I got in! My SSF experience in both houses have been everything I could have asked for.
I am a sports fanatic and of course growing up in Tallahassee I am a huge Seminole fan. Growing up, I mostly played soccer so I love watching our FSU women’s team but of course I am also a huge supporter of the football and basketball teams. I have been going to their games for as long as I can remember and plan to continue doing so for as long as I can. I hope to one day even be a booster for the sports programs here at Florida State.
I majored in entrepreneurship so of course my life goal is to one day start my own company. For my first year or so out of college, I am going to do some job searching to earn some money but also to gain experience and see what my strengths and weakness are in the real world. During this time, I will also be studying for the GMAT because I am interested in a lot of Florida State’s graduate programs in management, marketing, and analytics. I have thought of a lot of potential business ideas, but for now I am looking to set myself up for success by playing it safe and finding a job.
