I was born and raised in Orlando, FL. Living in Florida has been amazing because of the beautiful beaches and city lights I see every night in downtown Orlando. I grew up with both my parents and my older brother. Having the opportunity to live with my mother and father made a huge impact on the person I am today. I grew up seeing how one should love and be patient with anyone. Living all 18 years of my life in the same city has helped me establish great friendships from school and previous jobs. I went to a small private school called Orlando Christian Prep. Being involved in this community has taught me to take advantage of my resources to continue on my path of leadership and wisdom through the next chapter of my life.
I began college at the University of Florida in the summer of 2019 through the Promise program. Choosing SSF has expanded my relationships and resources I can rely on during my matriculation through college. I am currently involved in MLP and volunteering with BASE, Inc. to bring awareness of sexual diseases. These small steps I have taken were influenced by the good relationships I have made thanks to SSF. I am ready to continue my journey of success in the University of Florida to be a difference in our society.
Coming into the University of Florida, I was nervous to start my new life. I knew this would be nothing like high school, but these would be the opportunities in my life that will guide me to my dreams. I am currently majoring in Health Science on a pre-dental track. I came into UF with my purpose and goals following the path of faith. Everything I have done is to represent what I believe and allow it to be an example in the lives of those around me. During this journey, I am still trying to find out who I really am. This journey has been challenging but I have been able to push through it with the help of my family and new friends I have made over the past few weeks of the semester.
