My name is Andrea Cristina Moran-Melendez and my pronouns are she, her and hers. I am a first year CARE 19’ Summer Bridge student majoring in Behavioral Neuroscience and Public Health on a Pre-Med Track. My involvements on campus include the Service Leadership Seminar, the Freshman Leadership Institute, and the Women’s Leadership Institute. I am also an Inducted Member of Black Women In Medicine, as well as a participant in the 2020 Miss Achievement Scholarship Gala hosted by the Award Winning Theta Eta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.; I also serve as the current president of my Gala Class and a participant in the Hispanic Latinx Student Union Pageant. I am hoping to pursue a medical career and become a medical scientist by earning my M.D Ph.D. and helping to diversify healthcare. I found out about SSF through the CARE Summer Bridge Program, and receiving the scholarship has been a major highlight of my time here at Florida State.
