For Sean Lewertow, living at Southern Scholarship Foundation meant finding a true sense of belonging. Amid the demands of school and work, SSF offered a home grounded in mutual support, shared responsibility, and genuine connection—one where returning each day meant being surrounded by people who cared about one another’s success.

From Fall 2021 to Spring 2023, Sean lived in the Hartman-Kiwanis Scholarship House, where he served as Media Coordinator, Fire Marshal, and Social Chair. Within SSF’s structured environment, balancing shared house responsibilities alongside commitments beyond the house became an important part of his growth. He credits living alongside individuals with different perspectives, routines, and experiences as encouraging early communication, accountability, and adaptability—habits that helped the house run smoothly while shaping Sean into a more dependable and thoughtful leader within the community.

That experience reinforced a core value Sean carries forward: the importance of belonging. SSF provided a space where he learned to balance responsibility with connection, where, despite the stresses of school and work, returning home to his “brothers” offered consistent support and reassurance. One of Sean’s proudest accomplishments during this time was building a legacy ping pong table from scratch alongside fellow residents. What began as a spontaneous project became a lasting symbol of collaboration and creativity that residents continue to enjoy today.
Beyond SSF, Sean has remained deeply engaged on campus, serving as President of UF NSBE during the 2024–2025 academic year and continuing as a Senator. He is also a performer with UF Club Creole, a member of the BSU Community Affairs Committee, and the Exchequer of the Zeta Phi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Sean is preparing to begin his full-time role as a Software Engineer at Wells Fargo in Minneapolis next August. He hopes to grow into a senior leader in the tech industry, blending strong technical expertise with meaningful leadership shaped by community and service.
Fun fact: Sean has played baseball for over a decade!
