Name: Kimberly Thompson
House: Rogers Rotary
Hello, my name is Kimberly Thompson and I am an undergraduate student at the University of Florida double majoring in health science and women’s studies. I was born in Jamaica but raised in Lehigh Acres, Florida.
My story at SSF started with an accident. I was looking up information for another scholarship with a similar name when I stumbled upon the SSF website. After reading through the information and seeing that I still had time to apply, I jumped at the chance to join the community, and finding the SSF website had become the best fluke of my college career.
I am now in my third year in SSF and consider it such an important part of my college experience. It has given me the chance to meet so many wonderful people with a variety of backgrounds that help me grow as a person and motivate me as a student. Within my house, I have had the chance to take on multiple leadership roles that have taught me many life skills about budgeting and conflict management.
The girls in my house have become like sisters to me and have provided me with constant support.
