Resident: Veronica Eslava
House: Hawksley I
My name is Veronica Eslava and I’m currently a Sophomore at UF. I’m majoring in Health Science and would like to become a physician assistant. Let me tell you a little bit about myself, I was born and raised in Orlando and I have two sisters, one of them is my twin! In high school, I was always had the dream of attending UF, but knew that it would be a financial burden to my family. I knew that simply living in a dorm would cost a ton. I still applied just to see what would happen. Little did I know how it would change my life. I vividly remember coming across the SSF website and thinking “this is a joke” and “this can’t be real” but yet I eagerly applied hoping for a miracle. A few weeks later, I found out that I got in and that my dreams of attending my dream college were coming true. Not just that, but my twin sister was also accepted and going to be living a house in front of me! This is my second year living in Hawksley I and it truly feels like family. It’s a safe haven where I know that I can talk to anyone or seek advice. It has allowed me to grow as a person and be prepared for the real world. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to create relationships with people who I know will last a lifetime. SSF will always have a special place in my heart and I will always be grateful.
